Within our UNINOVIS university alliance, eight partner institutions each lead an “Excellence Hub” — a dedicated space focused on one theme within applied data science, such as sustainability, health, robotics, cybersecurity, or responsible AI. These Hubs bring together students, researchers, businesses, and government to collaborate on real-world projects (often using a “Living Lab” approach that tests solutions directly in real-world settings), while also organising events like hackathons and workshops, and coordinating education and mobility programmes across borders.
The overall goal is to turn shared research ambitions into practical innovation, developing new technologies and services while giving students, staff, and researchers more opportunities to learn and work together across Europe.
