March 18 was a special day for UNINOVIS. The European university alliance celebrated its first birthday, and the energy was contagious — from Finland to Spain, the Netherlands to Lithuania. Across all campuses, students, staff, and researchers came together to connect, learn, and celebrate one year of European collaboration.
Celebrations across the campuses
In Tampere, Finland, presentations highlighted UNINOVIS achievements. Students and teachers shared their experiences, while refreshments kept the atmosphere welcoming and social.
At Kauno Kolegija in Kaunas, Lithuania, the mood was fun and interactive. Students joined a presentation about UNINOVIS and tested their knowledge in a lively Kahoot quiz. Snacks and casual conversations made learning feel effortless.

In Spain, the University of Málaga set up an information stand in the Faculty of Communication Sciences. Visitors explored international opportunities and research projects. A social media giveaway added an extra layer of excitement, letting students join the celebration online. Across the border in Germany, the Technical University of Applied Sciences Würzburg-Schweinfurt combined presentations with an info stand, sparking conversations and curiosity.
From formal events to live music
Italy's University of Campania Luigi Vanvitelli took a more formal approach. Leaders opened a conference event with speeches, followed by project presentations. Guests got a full picture of UNINOVIS' first-year achievements. But it wasn't all formal — there was also a special concert on campus, where a choir performed and added a warm, celebratory feel to the whole event.

In the Netherlands, The Hague University of Applied Sciences treated students to chocolates and brochures while sharing the alliance's story at an information stand. And in Paris, University Sorbonne Paris Nord ran simultaneous events across campuses, giving students and staff a chance to ask questions and discover international opportunities firsthand.

A year of rapid growth
In just one year, UNINOVIS has grown fast. Eight universities, 150,000 students, and 13,000 staff are now part of the alliance. Research hubs, international mobility programs, and innovative educational projects have taken off. At the same time, UNINOVIS is moving toward digital and sustainable transformation, building platforms and frameworks that connect students and staff across borders. Conferences, joint trainings, and knowledge exchanges have created a sense of community that spans Europe.
