On 2–3 June, The Hague University of Applied Sciences and the Technische Hochschule Würzburg-Schweinfurt (THWS) jointly organised a two-day research workshop on Artificial Intelligence and Robotics as part of the European University Alliance UNINOVIS. The event brought together researchers, lecturers, institutional leaders, and professionals from across Europe to share expertise, explore emerging developments, and lay the groundwork for future collaboration.
The workshop held particular significance as one of the first collaborative initiatives following The Hague University of Applied Sciences joining the UNINOVIS alliance. It offered an early opportunity to build relationships, establish shared research interests, and demonstrate what cross-institutional collaboration in the network can look like in practice.

As fellow UNINOVIS members, both THUAS and THWS share a commitment to advancing digitalisation, data-driven innovation, and cross-border academic cooperation. The workshop gave concrete form to that shared mission, bringing it to life through direct exchange rather than formal agreements alone.
Over the course of two days, participants presented their research interests and ongoing projects, engaged in structured working sessions, and identified concrete opportunities for joint research initiatives. The programme created space for meaningful dialogue on current challenges and emerging opportunities in AI and robotics — not just in academic terms, but in the broader European context of technological advancement and workforce readiness.

Participants left with a clearer picture of each other's work, a set of shared questions worth pursuing, and, in several cases, the beginnings of concrete collaborative plans.
For THUAS, the workshop marked an important step in becoming an active contributor to the alliance's research and innovation agenda. For THWS and the wider UNINOVIS network, it reinforced what international cooperation can deliver when institutions come together with genuine openness and complementary expertise.
